Vietnam is The new Taiwan? Such as Vietnam makes its entry in the global mobile market

Sunday Oct 3, 2010

“Made in Taiwan” had a special meaning, if I (we long ago to a digital assets) was a child. It ‘was a phrase often overlooked, in the sense that, for both the poor and infidelity. As the costs of wages increased in the United States during the last century, our dependency on foreign products, especially clothes, furniture and household goods, American manufacturers hit hard by many workers for a job. “Buy American” can be seen to do something as patriotic and intelligent, because the products made abroad are considered of lower quality. Over time, however, as Asian manufacturers gained, the issue of quality and not increasing, and won the law of supply and demand. Without tariffs imposed from outside, reducing costs means lower prices, and that will always appeal to consumers and then the products imported from Asia staple diet of American buyers. This was nothing more than to be in the furniture for the home, where the money to buyers, saving with imports.

Another thing happens over time, however, such as manufacturing, thrive in a country. Japan, Taiwan and China have seen their workforce, equipment and operating costs, as the fruits of their work gradually turned the pockets of rural poverty, the busy shopping centers. “Cheap labor” do not stay so long, and is looking for this reason, new sources of low-paid employees. Today, the production up-and-coming, at least for wooden furniture, has returned to Vietnam. Since 2001, Vietnam has increased its participation in the mobile market in the United States by a negligible 0.1% in second place behind China in the first place, and now stands at 8.3%. China remains by far the market leader here with nearly 64% of imported furniture, a figure that has risen steadily and almost doubled, from 37% observed in 2001. There is no reason for China’s continued dominance in this market, no doubt, however, Vietnam is already double the share of nearest rival, Malaysia, Taiwan and dominates the once mighty, who dropped to third the turn of the century action, with only 2, 4% in 2008.

Vietnam to continue its climb upward? That depends upon your answer to a series of challenges. In addition to low labor costs, Vietnam is not well in some of the other inputs in the manufacture of furniture. Vietnam does not currently have a strong internal wood industry and imports 70-80% of raw materials. Lacking the necessary chemicals for wood treatment products on the market for household goods, and fabrics for upholstery and cushions are not used, available here.
Despite these obstacles, however, the benefits of Vietnam by the United States at rates higher Chinese imports of wood products and a reputation for quality craftsmanship and unique design details. To advance their cause, Vietnam has begun to embrace its role as a superpower in the future mobile mobile hosting the annual fair in Ho Chi Minh City, the establishment of Ho Chi Minh International Exhibition and Craft Show.
